In the endless sea of possibility,
my heart chose you.
Even though so many things didn’t add up,
the circumstance was wrong,
and the timing was so off,
my heart still chose you.
It wasn’t love at first sight.
My heart has hurt before
and had healed.
It is cautious and careful.
I went in with my eyes wide open
and my heart sewn shut.
Soon, the stitches began to fray,
and as much as I tried to turn from the truth,
my heart chose you.
And if it happens anew,
if we live again in a different lifetime,
no matter when or where,
my heart will find you
and choose you all over again.
This was a beautiful poem. The heart can be really stupid though… I don’t even know if an emotional GPS could help it 🙂
Lol…yes, the heart can be very stupid…and stubborn!
Seriously… if only it would just stop and ask for directions!
Oh my God…my heart is a man!! Lol
That’s EXACTLY what I thought about mine! That explains sooooo much, haha
Supposedly, sea otters can be horribly cruel creatures who like to rape other animals. (Yeah, that’s probably an inappropriate comment for this story)
Lol…I was not expecting that at all. I’m rethinking my choice of photo!
Beautifully written and poignant. This speaks to my soul with the familiarity of a mirrored reflection. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you very much.
