If my hand brushed up against yours,
would your fingers curl around mine,
would you reach for my touch
as easily as I long for yours,
and let your thumb
gently caress my skin?
If I kissed you,
would our lips slightly touch
before you turned away,
or would your face lean into mine,
absorbing every ounce of the passion
I want to share with that kiss?
If I said I love you,
would you immediately build a wall
to keep me at a distance,
or would you pull me close
happy to share my emotion
because you feel it too?
If I fell into you,
would your arms catch me,
would my body be met by the warmth of your flesh,
or would I awake, once again, from my dream
wondering if you really exist.
I just wanna know.
Absolutely beautiful. Everything most of us wondered about before. Beautifully written.
I don’t know how I missed your earlier comment, but thank you.
Can we ever truly know without trying?
Excellent point.
Susan! I’m a married man! My stars!
OK, now that I got the joke outta the way, let me say that this poem was beautiful. Simply beautiful.
Lol…that was funny. Can’t blame a girl for trying. 😉 And, thank you.
There is only one way to find out 🙂 I’ve become a bit of a cynic, but I’m rooting for the emotion being shared. Unrequited love is just cruel.
Yes, it sure is. I woke up from a dream with this one in my head. The subconscious boggles my mind sometimes.
Beautifully written. Thank you. Some moments in time are so like that. And often we miss the cues or the opportunities. Always take time to notice and act on these little moments when you have someone in your life to share those moments with . So many times we just rush through without paying attention and miss them. Be present. Thanks for this
Thanks for such a wonderful comment. 🙂
