The hamster on the wheel goes round and round…um, he’s dead Jim.

I have so many things that I want to say but none of those thoughts are willing to take the leap from my brain to my fingertips.  Writer’s block has built itself into an unending concrete wall and suffocated the hamster powering my thought wheel.

I have had these moments before, days when my brain was completely blank but, now as those days keep accumulating, I feel the weight of the winter blahs settling in and that feeling is compounding my lack of enthusiasm for writing and reading blogs.

I am determined to make my presence known in your blogs, once again, and reap the rewards of your diligence in your blog posting.

I need to feel the warmth of the spring sun on my face to revitalize my brain.  Mother Nature…..I hope you are reading this!!

What do you do when you have writer’s block?

  1. I was hoping you’d tell me what to do when I have writer’s block 😉

This morning I spent half an hour trying to start the mower, then I read a few blog posts and twiddled my thumbs, I’ve been having an ongoing battle with a wasp (or hornet – I’ll have to Google it), and now I’m about to sand my wooden bar. I could have finished a novel by now if I wasn’t feeling so uncreative! 😉

  2. I know it probably sounds trite for me to say, but my advice is to not worry too much about it. First, you posted, which means you wrote something, which in my experience is always the best ultimate cure for the block. Second, perhaps just find something that feels completely different to focus on. I find the best inspiration comes when I’m not looking for it. Third, the mere title of this post made me laugh. I heard it in my best Leslie Nielsen “Don’t call me Shirley” voice and laughed.

Not sure if that helps, but you have that going for you. 🙂
