The way your eyes look into mine is unfair.
You hold me in your gaze.
You see me. You see into me.
Your eyes travel the contour of my face and rest on my smile.
Your eyes know every wrinkle around my eyes.
Your eyes know the emotion in every facial expression I have.
Your eyes know me.
But it isn’t fair.
Your eyes will never be able to look outward with mine,
they will never be able to look towards a future together.
For as much as we are drawn together,
the vision in your reality keeps us apart.
But your eyes continue to speak to me,
volumes of implied feelings are expressed with each blink.
My eyes read those thoughts and answer back.
The emotion in our unspoken words is palpable.
Hold me in your gaze for a while longer.
Hold me there forever.

Lovely
Thank you.
So poignant with a touch of melancholy for me.

Thank you….it does seem rather sad, doesn’t it?
Yes, but in a good way. 🙂

🙂
poignant, sad, but beautiful
Thank you.
Such tender expression…quite vulnerable. Nice.
Thank you very much.
This is beautiful, Poly! There’s a rumor going around that someone might be doing a special Christmas Romantic Monday on the 16th.
I would LOVE if that rumor were true!
Perhaps you could spread that rumor. I don’t want to make a big deal about it, like in the past, since it’s a one-off, but this would be an extremely good week to write something Christmas-y and romantical.
Which you seem to have done, by the way.
Thank you for the compliment – much appreciated. I’m sure I can stir up some interest for Romancemas – let me see what I can do!
I can tell you that you’re already on there twice.
Twice?
This, and the Twas blogger post.
Awesome – thanks!! I’m going to channel my inner high school self and start a rumor!! 😉
Gasp! Repeating gossip…
Only for you EH….only for you!! 😉
lol thanks. Is it snowy up there?
Ridiculously snowy! I’m sure I shoveled about 8 inches when I got home and there is already another 3 inches out there. We are supposed to get about 18 in total.
I fell on my ass this morning shoveling my driveway. And my wrist, which didn’t feel so well, and still doesn’t.
Ouch! I feel your pain….I hyper-extended my knee last year pulling snow off my roof. Jack Frost can bite me….oh wait, that’s his job!! haha
But only your nose
beautiful
🙂 Thank you.
