I cannot remember specific days but I do remember certain moments. The moments you and I shared that were filled with love. Moments that will have to satisfy me until we meet again.

Written about the recent loss of my mom in response to this week’s Trifecta Challenge:
Without further ado. . .
SATISFY (transitive verb) 1a : to carry out the terms of (as a contract) : discharge b : to meet a financial obligation to
2: to make reparation to (an injured party) : indemnify
3a : to make happy : please b : to gratify to the full : appease 4a : convince b : to put an end to (doubt or uncertainty) : dispel 5a : to conform to (as specifications) : be adequate to (an end in view)
That’s a perfect response to the prompt.
I’m glad you’re channeling your grief out.
Thanks Guap….it therapeutic when it happens.
Every word beautifully written… I think of my mom now.
Thank you.
Beautiful. I love the wistfulness in the first line, and the resolute hope in the last. Wonderful piece. Anyone’s mother would be pleased by this, I think.
Thank you very much.
Beautiful, Susan. xo
Thanks Jill. 🙂
I’ve heard it said that memories are like stars in the black night of sorrow. Sounds like you are holding onto the stars. May they help light the way as you grieve. Sorry for your loss.
This is an absolutely beautiful poem, Susan and a wonderful tribute to your mother xxx
Thanks Dianne. xx
This gave me chills, Susan. You’re in my thoughts and prayers.
Thank you.
This makes my heart ache. The memories can be some comfort, but on the flip side, they also make the loss feel “more.”
It’s amazing how many people keep reminding how final it is….I think I get that part!
oh I am so sorry for your loss, my heart aches for and with you. But no one is ever really gone (I do believe that, especially after all the loss I’ve suffered recently) and to keep them in your heart keeps them alive.
your words were beautiful, I know your mom is smiling.
Thank you. She is certainly showing me signs that she is still around. I do miss her terribly.
I know and I am so sorry. If you need a shoulder or an ear please know I’m here. Grief is so heavy, don’t carry it alone.
Thank you so much. I really appreciate that.
That is beautiful! I’m sorry for your loss.
