Snuggled in my bed at home,
the blankets pulled up tight.
Morning sun begins to rise,
the Earth is bathed in light.
Shimmering snow blankets the trees,
the sun caresses each flake.
The new day yawns to shake off the night,
The Man in the Moon takes a break.
From under the warmth of my duvet I emerge,
ready to start anew.
Adventures and new memories laying in wait,
and dreams I am anxious to pursue.
I open the door to welcome the morn,
the beginning of the day to unfold.
The hesitation of my dog confirms my suspicion,
Holy Shit-balls, it’s cold!!
I want to crawl back under the warm covers–even my cat will not go outside!
It’s so bitter…..and it’s going to be like this for a week!!
Shit-balls must be really, REALLY cold. Mine just go hide…
Geez….am I brand new?? Don’t read Ned’s comments while eating lunch. This comment has been brought to you by English Muffin and Avocado out my nose!
That’s a Subway sandwich special I don’t ever want to see…
Haha! Finally started reading your book last night. My sleep patterns may be affected for the next few nights….kept laughing and didn’t want to put it down. My dog is retaining a lawyer, just so you can be prepared, because her sleep pattern is also being affected.
Wow! Usually it’s only my snoring that affects sleep patterns! This is progress! Although your dog may not agree.
Change “sun” to “grey clouds” and this could have been my morning.
Though I realized it was freezing the second I took off the covers.
Meh.
57 days, my friend…….57 days!!
Haaaa! I LOVE it! 😀
😀 Thank you!!
a golden retriever’s wet nose usually greets my morning
and it’s 18 here today
it was actually colder this morning -42C with the wind chill. 😦
I think you created the perfect It’s-Eight-Degrees-Outside?! poem. Well done.
Lol…thank you! It was -42C with the wind chill this morning. 😦
Haha…great poem! I was sniveling about our thirty degrees while I waited with my younger son for the bus to come. Yeah, I’m a wimp 🙂
Minus 24C felt balmy this morning….sad, but true.
