- Silence
- Inspiration
- Release
Written for the weekend Trifecta Challenge: One of our editors was recently lucky enough to slowly roast on a bouncy, mechanical floor thisclose to nearly 900 other Portlanders for a reading (of the third chapter of his new book, The Ocean at the End of the Lane) and subsequent Q&A by Neil Gaiman. One of the questions asked of him was, “Can you tell us your writing process in three words?” He replied, “Glare. Drink tea.”
This weekend, we’re asking for you to sum up your own process with just three little words. Give us dry wit, pathos or otherwise. And remember, we like your blood on the page. Put it there. – See more at: http://www.trifectawritingchallenge.com/#sthash.9taUYsHh.dpuf
Oh I like RELEASE, that is a good one for how it feels to finally hit publish.
(plus I really like your blog, it’s very comfortable)
Thank you very much. 🙂
welcome, it was really nice. 🙂
I liked yours as well. 🙂
Excellent!
If I did this one, it would probably be “Beacuse it’s fun”.
(Thank goodness for contractions or I’d be over the limit!)
🙂 fun is the best part!
Your silence screams
Thank you Lance…I appreciate that comment more than you know!
Interesting sequence!
It’s an interesting process. 🙂
Very well put!
Thanks very much.
It’s nice when all three come together. It works for you 🙂
Thanks Janna! 🙂
These words make sense to me 🙂
It’s a great feeling. 🙂
This is a pretty one!
Thanks so much Kymm!
some of my most peaceful writing days were spent in the parking lot of a nearby lake with the windows rolled down and the loon-song washing over me. Quiet is good – nature’s quiet 🙂
I live in nature’s quiet (until tourist season)!
That sounds like some nice yoga instruction. Multi-purpose words are the best.
I’ve tried yoga a couple of times, but I can’t shut my brain off long enough to relax!
Oh that cherished silence! And then if you can get inspiration and have time to release it, well that about says it all for a very good writing day!
This time of year they are fewer and further between. 😦
Oh my gosh! When I think back on all those summers with the kids it just a big blur!
Awesome three words!
Thank you!
Excellent choices.
Thank you.
Great choices and I love the fonts used on this blog – super cute!
Thanks very much. 🙂
You have chosen 3 perfect words.
“Release” is perfect here. Nice job.
Love release profoundly
I cannot take the silence. I require something as a buffer to the noises that distract. I know, it sounds counter-intuitive, but works for me.
If you find what works – stick with it!!
