Her birth was nothing short of miraculous and she survived her first eight weeks in a landfill, left for dead. The rescue team that found her nourished her back to health and placed her in the system for adoption. Once I saw those big brown eyes I knew she would be, not only my dog but, my four-legged child and my best friend.
Written for the weekend Trifextra Challenge: On to the prompt. This weekend we’re revisiting an early Trifextra, our second ever. The challenge is to write a complete story in only three sentences. Good luck!

Reminds me of this song:
Love it!!
Awww – she is SO beautiful! What a treasure 😀
She’s a gem!
Lovely story that it has a happy ending. Poor doggie all that time in land fill.
And today she is a happy, friendly dog. 🙂
Anything like this leaves me with a manly lump in my throat and some grit in my eye (honest). What a great tale.
Thank you. She’s a special girl.
She is beautiful. I’m so happy she found a loving home, and you found a special member of your family.
Thank you
Beautiful dog! I’m glad she has a home with you – I just love a happy ending to a sad story 🙂
We were meant to find each other! 🙂
As a big advocate for animal welfare, I can’t tell you how happy this post made me feel. Whenever I see and hear a good-ending story for our most loyal, little furry friends, I am filled with hope that perhaps there will come a day when the many will see the value in animals as sentient beings that can live in harmony with us instead of living in fear and being abused. Thank you, thank you, thank you for posting this most cherished story. So far, the best I’ve read today….
Thank you so much! She is my angel – she’s almost 6 now and my favorite part of the day is waking up to her staring at me. As soon as I open one eye, the tail is wagging and the day begins.
Our furkids are both rescues too. Best dogs ever!
My last dog was a rescue as well. I would never get a dog any other way!
That’s a tough pup!
and she still is!
Written from the soul. Cheers to you.
Thank you.
Oh, I love this so much. Rescuers give me so many smiles, it’s such a worthy calling to adopt an animal.
Sweet tribute.
Thank you.
I never can comprehend how someone could be cruel to an animal. The do not have malice when born, only when mistreated and left to their own devices.
If I were home on a regular basis I would foster rescues until they found their forever home. Animal abuse makes me sick to my stomach.
